The primary focus of Noctua Oil, LLC is the development of onshore drilling prospects targeting the Smackover Limestone in southern Alabama.  We have been active and successful in this highly prolific play since 2008, with past projects resulting in the development of several high quality wells.  One of these prospects became the field discovery well for the Brooklyn Field, a major field in Conecuh & Escambia Counties, AL that now encompasses over 50 wells. 

Noctua Oil, LLC covers all aspects of prospect development from lease acquisition to the management of the drilling, completion and production of wells.  Our business model is to retain a working interest position in each well with the remaining interest being sold to private investors and investment groups.  We maintain a continuous inventory of available prospects ranging from single wells to large multiple well prospects.  Our goal is, through the success of our prospects, to deliver exceptional profitability to our investors and to Noctua Oil.  For more information, please contact us to schedule a proprietary review of our work.

​The company name has its origin in Greek Mythology.  Athena, the Greek goddess of reason, intelligent activity, arts and literature, was often pictured with a companion owl...named Noctua.  The name is intended to symbolize our endless pursuit of useful knowledge of all kinds, and as a tribute to Rice University.
